Bed & Breakfast at Cranham House
CRANHAM HOUSE is an old stone farmhouse with traditionally thick walls and large fireplaces set half way up the wooded valley - or combe - surrounded by trees and soft hills. The sea is immediately visible as you drive towards the house along the ridge of our hay meadow - spectacular and romantic.
The two double bedrooms have their own luxuriously modern bathrooms. The larger bedroom has its own dressing room whilst the second one has a separate shower as well as bath and a marble tiled floor. There is crisp cotton bed linen, stacks of pillows and cushions, good lighting and great views. Comfort and luxury is provided for your stay with us.
There are two sitting rooms - a large, light summer room with french doors opening onto the garden and a cosy, lime-washed room with a large inglenook fireplace and open log fire for colder evenings. The house is full of books, magazines, ceramics and videos for you to enjoy.
Dinner is taken in the spacious dining hall with candlelight and fine cooking. Produce is sourced locally and organic meat, vegetables and eggs are used. Jennifer is an experienced cook who has run her own catering business with great success over the last few years.
Breakfast can be either English or Continental - coffee is freshly ground and bread and preserves are home-made.
This is a no smoking house. Sorry, no pets.

Self-catering Accommodation at Cranham House
We now offer a self-contained and stylish annexe to the main house, having its own entrance through your private garden, and sleeping 2 people. It is possible for you to bring your baby. We have a roomy travel cot.
The building comprises a double bedroom; a shower room with a luxury power shower; a well equipped galley style kitchen which overlooks the private garden and stunning views of the wooded valley beyond; as well as the main sitting and dining room which is a beautiful and spacious lime-washed green oak frame barn that contains a wood burner, sofa and armchairs and flat screen TV & Radio (with sky freeview package) and DVD player, games, magazines and books, and guides of local walks. There is a separate parking area for visitors and we provide a basket of logs and an organic welcome hamper for when you arrive.
Guests are welcome to have dinner in the main house by prior arrangement.

We can provide detailed maps of local walks, arrange activities for you, and share our knowledge of the local and historic places to visit.
